Dear Members.
Over the last year Apparel Decorators Forum has gone through many changes. It
has been a learning experience for me to put this thing together. The original
intent was to have experts from various companies come on board and offer advice
and be faculty members on the board assisting members. I think this idea
somewhat failed. I gave free sponsorship to many of them and this was in hope
that they intern offer you the members a discount on product and services. Like
I said I want them to give a little something back to members. Some did and were
very generous and gave prizes for the drawing and I do thank them for that.
It may be the opinion of some that this forum just does not have the draw
that the "other" forum has. OK, I agree. I have even been told that they did not
see enough members actually participate to pay for any advertising. I agree. It
may seem that a few members actually participate on the forum but if you were to
analyze the percentages of members who are here Vs one of the largest forums
then you would find our percentages are better if not equal. So it is the case
for them as well. Meaning if you have 100,000 members and less then 500 actually
participate then numbers don’t mean anything.
We are growing and I am more then pleased with the numbers. We also have a
considerable amount of members that do check in and read what is here because
new stuff is added daily thanks to those that actually participate. So to say
that few members actually participate is correct but giving many
information that they can use is even more what we are about. Then we have
accomplished something.
Some of you have asked what the new ADF Supplies wording means on the forum
over the current sponsor link page. So here is the deal…Say good by to
sponsorship as it is today. Say goodbye to banners on the pages. Say hello to
ADF Suppliers. This will be how sponsor can offer you the member’s discount on
products they sell.

Unlike other forums that fill every space they can with ads and banners I
have decided to place this in one place and give the forum a cleaner look.
We are going to offer this for free to companies that want to participate.
However here is what they have to do in order to be seen on ADF suppliers. One
of 3 things. #1. Offer a percentage discount with a code to use on check out.
#2. Offer an Item for sale at a discount price directly from the site. This
could be tricky but when you see a few that have already posted you will get the
idea. #2 Tell their sale people that when a member calls and tells them they are
an ADF member they get a discount on products. They could also offer all three.
Their cost for this again is. zero, nada, zip, not a cent. Not only that but
they get triple the space that we had on the current page. I gave them till
March 15th to decide. That is when you will see a full change.
So we will see. I sent out an email to current sponsors in hopes that will
stay with us and join this new program. If not well then that is their business
decision. .
So take a look and give me feed back. By the way you will need to register to
see the ads. Can’t have just anybody lurking around here.
