My Ricoh 3300 flashes like it's going to power up, maybe 1/2 second, and then nothing.  It took Conde & then Sawgrass each about 2 seconds to tell me that the motherboard is out.  This is a "known problem."  (Sawgrass knows it and has told their retailers about it.  Anyone here know about it before now?)  Sawgrass has dedicated a tech (or maybe a team of techs) to investigating the problem.  My new printer is on its way and Sawgrass assures me that they will continue to ensure that I have a working printer for one year from my initial purchase.

I'll spare you my rant and just end with: Yikes!

Forgot to add -- I considered upgrading to the 7000 to get around the problem.  According to Sawgrass, it has the same known problem.

They are sending a new printer - and I am asking for a new set of carts, as it takes SOOOOO much of their expensive ink for the initial charge.

I don't remember hearing about this,  but I don't generally see the tech notices, so our techs may know and the information just didn't make it as far as me.  I'll have to check this out.

Glad to hear your problem was handled quickly.

Update: Warranty printer died just like the first one.  I got about 11 months out of the second one.  I've been told that it's because I ran expired ink through it.  Research shows that no expired ink has been through this system.  I've been told that folks who let this printer sit and don't print regularly have more problems.  Perhaps, but that's why I went Ricoh instead of Epson (remember all the hype about "no more clogged heads?").  One thing is for sure, I have no access to parts for these printers.  Ricoh tells me to throw it away because it's cheaper to replace it.  I've taken it apart, and it's interesting to me to see all the little pieces, but I don't have access to a replacement motherboard - so off to the dumpster we go.  Wasteful in so many ways.

sorry to hear about your printer dying. So far my ole epson 1100 running cobra's ink is running like a champ i have had zero problems out of it, other then sawgrass trying to make cobra stop selling their ink. Wonder why they wouldnt want a better cheaper product competing with them  Shocked

But i wish ya luck with sawgrass, i may be without ink in the near future, not really sure what is happening
