Okay, Microsoft Word is not a design software - but I just had a customer e-mail me his artwork and it was created in Word.  I haven't updated my Word program for awhile and couldn't open his .docx document.  Found this free online converter and thought I'd share....http://doc.investintech.com/  converted .docx to .doc

Good to know. I got so irritated with my MicroShaft Office that I uninstalled it, and installed Open Office (Sun Microsystems freebie). That will open a .docx file no problem.

Also...I have asked customers to re-save as say,,, 2003 doc format and resend. I have never had any push back from that request. Most people share the same frustration with opening files and are more than willing to re-save and resend.
